At The Total Joint, we know that there is more to high level performance that just the action itself. Whether you are playing a sport, training for a race, or simply being active on a regular basis, recovery is an important part of keeping your body ready for success. That’s why we offer recovery sessions to make sure you maximize your potential.
Common Components of a Recovery Session:
-
-
- Normatec Compression: We use the Normatec dynamic air compression system to apply compression to your legs to help with blood flow, swelling, and muscle recovery. Find out more about it HERE.
- TENS: A session will involve the application of an electrical stimulation (TENS) unit to help decrease pain and improve blood flow to sore muscles.
- Moist Heat: A moist heat pad will be used to decrease muscle soreness through improved circulation to the affected areas. This can include your legs, back, neck, shoulders and more areas as needed.
- Combination with a Stretch Session: Try combining your Recovery Session with a Stretch Session. Have hands-on care from a physical therapist to improve mobility and flexibility, and follow it up with the above services to enhance the benefits. Read more about our Stretch Sessions HERE.
